Intern Architect

Are you looking for a challenge, ready to grow your career, take on responsibility, work in a collaborative environment, and make an impact in your community?

If so, Walter Robbs is the perfect place for you.  Founded in 1965, we are a mid-size architectural firm based in the Piedmont Triad with a mission of providing high quality design solutions that are responsive to our clients’ needs, mindful of public trust, and professionally rewarding.

At Walter Robbs, we are caring, inclusive, and we value work-life balance.
We tackle complex issues through the process (and mystery) of design.
We create places that transform environments, communities, and people.

Our firm excels in the design of Athletic, K-12, Higher Education and Commercial facilities, Community-focused projects, and Historic Preservation. Every member of the firm - architects, interior designers, and technical and administrative staff - plays a critical role in fulfilling our mission.

Walter Robbs is seeking a full-time professional on track to licensure.  As Intern Architect, you will have the opportunity to hone your skills in all aspects of architecture from conceptual design through construction administration.  You will be paired with a Project Director and Project Manager to gain direct experience on a variety of project types.  Architectural tasks will include developing early concept designs and layouts, performing code and material research, compiling project information, preparing presentations, developing drawings, and assisting with site observations and construction administration.  Salary will be commensurate with experience level and consistent with the AIA compensation report.  We also offer flex hours, hybrid work arrangement, a very competitive benefits package, and profit sharing.
